Former Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke led the central bank during a turbulent financial time in the United States, with the bursting of the housing bubble in 2007, followed by the collapse of Lehman Brothers and Bear Stearns a year later.
On Wednesday morning, The Wall Street Journal’s chief economics correspondent, Jon Hilsenrath, interviews Mr. Bernanke about the issues the Fed is facing and Mr. Bernanke’s observations about the U.S. and global economy since leaving the central bank about a year and a half ago. They will also discuss the Fed’s response to the U.S. financial crisis during the time Mr. Bernanke served as chairman.
